Catching up... Saying goodbye to Grandma in the little town of Aurora, UT

I feel so awful that I haven't written about my sweet Grandma Heagle who passed away peacefully in her sleep, on May 31st.  She was diagnosed with bone cancer about 3 weeks prior, and so we knew she would go soon, but didn't expect it to be THAT soon.  She just really wanted to get back to her sweetheart, my grandpa, who passed 3 1/2 years earlier.  That was one thing about my grandma that I will remember... when she set her mind to something nothing would change it.  She was ready to leave this earth life, and so she did!  Some other things I will remember about my grandma:
Her love of singing
She was a great seamstress
She was the most organized person on the planet
She had EVERYTHING
She always had dessert, and 99% of the time it was an elaborate dessert she made :)
Her deviled eggs were delish!
She loved the water
She loved telling stories of her past
She had a love of genealogy work

Going down slide rock, just shy of 87 years old

Ry and my grandma formed a special bond at our reunion, July 2010

Grandma Heagle will most definitely be missed, but I know she is happy and where she truly wants to be right now.  Love you Grams!

My mom was able to leave Puebla, Mexico to be with grandma the few days before she passed, and stayed until her funeral, so we were able to see her for a few days.  It was such a special treat for those of us kids that were able to attend the funeral.

5 of the 9 kids that were able to be there... We missed you, Bradley, Lin, Ben and Brian!

After the funeral, we all let go of a balloon, which would "fly up to grams" as our last goodbye. Then we went on a walk to see the horses, and let the kids play in the yard afterwards, which was something we always loved to do when we visited there.  That night we made s'mores in honor of Grandma... She was the queen of s'mores!

It was fun to see Taylor and Nicole as well, since they live so far... We were glad they were able to make it to the funeral.

One of the horses on our walk... so pretty!

Running through the sprinklers...

We passed on the tradition to my mom :)

Van LOVES Sadie, and copied EVERYTHING she did... It reminded me of when Sadie was about his age and copied everything Brian did... It was too cute!

The next day we went to Palisades Lake, another tradition with my grandparents.  We ate lunch, rode in the canoe, laid out, climbed the tree, fed the ducks, and Uncle Taylor even caught a fish with his bare hands! The kids loved getting to touch it...

On our way up to bountiful, we stopped by the Manti temple.  We stayed the night at my Aunt Linda and Uncle Mel Reeves' home. The next morning Ry and I took my mom to the airport... I was sad she had to go, but was glad to have the time with her that we did.  Ryan and I did a canyon drive that day, then picked up my niece, Chealsey to bring back to AZ with us. She will be staying with us for the summer.  Even though we got together for a funeral, it was great to remember the wonderful life of Mary Elizabeth Heagle, and we had a great time with everyone!
